Betty Lolo Parish

Passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at age 87. Born May 10, 1923 to Harry and Lolo Bengry in Escanaba, MI. Betty graduated from Central High School (Lansing) in 1942. She worked as a Nurses Aide at McLaughlin Osteopathic Hospital in Lansing where she met her late husband, Robert James Parish. Prior to that she worked at Talbert Abrams in Lansing where she met her life-long friends, Betty "Redfield" Ried, Helen "Farrington" Grostick, and Marge "Daoust" Jones. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and brothers, Billy, Harry Jr., Russell and Walter.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary Ellen Beck, Beverly (Dennis) Campbell; grandsons, Tom and Steve Campbell; sister, Mary (Dan) Castle; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at North Westminster Presbyterian Church at 743 North MLK Blvd. Lansing, MI 48915. Family will receive friends a half hour before the service. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the church in Betty's name.
