Carnell Moore Obituary (1912 - 2011)

On December 3, 2011 heavens gates opened and the Heavenly Father welcomed His daughter Carnell Moore. Ms Moore was one and half month shy of her 100th birthday. She was received at the gates of heaven with the words she loved to hear, 'Well done, good and faithful servant". She was a very special person, who was loved by everyone who knew her. She was born in Tuckerman, Arkansas, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Sneed) Whaley. She was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist church and served office with the Arbutus Chapter #45 of the Eastern Star for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Moore (1964), parents, and four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Gifford, Mrs. Oneal Quarry, Mrs. Virginia Terry, Mrs. Ruby Graves and special sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruby (Long) Whaley, brothers, J.R. and Raymond Whaley. Surviving is special niece Wanda Allison and several nieces and nephews . Ms. Moore was employed with Michigan State University as a Supervisor of the Laundry Department for 25 years. She was employed in similar job capacity at the Lansing YMCA for 10 years. The family would like to thank the wonderful group of women from Lansing of Hospice who cared for Aunt Nell and special thanks to her caregiver, Robert Crummel for her love and care in her final days. Celebration of her live will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Chapel In The Pines Funeral Home, 101 W. Jolly Rd., Lansing, MI. Interment will be at the Glendale Cemetery, Meredian Twp. . In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Lansing
