DeWaine Bienz Obituary (1924 - 2008) - Eaton Rapids, Michigan

DeWaine Bienz Age 84, of Eaton Rapids died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Dimondale Center in Windsor Township. Born July 9, 1924 in Eaton Rapids the son of Friend and Rose Zella (Moyers) Bienz. DeWaine was a Springport High School graduate, class of 1944 and had served in the Army just following World War II. Mr. Bienz was a Dairy Famer for most all of his life operating his farm in Onondaga Township. He was a Life Member and Past President and Trustee of the Michigan Brown Swiss Association, a Life member of the National Brown Swiss Association and the Dairy Shrine Club. A former board member of the Onondaga Township and the Leslie School System. He was also an avid reader and hunter and a founding member of the Onondaga Sportsman's Club. Preceding him in death was his wife of? 56 years, Doris (Furgason) Bienz in 2006. Surviving are his 3 children, Dianne Bienz of Eaton Rapids, Susan (Jim) Gray of Onondaga and Carl (Jill) Bienz of Eaton Rapids; 3 grandchildren, Karen (Tim) Lloyd, Bridgett and Tony Bienz.??? Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. William Muller, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Onondaga Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
