Don Eugene Lee Obituary (1964 - 2016)

Donis "Don" Eugene Lee Age 52 of Eaton Rapids passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday August 9, 2016. Don is survived by his children; Dustin James Lee of Ferndale, Brandi Jo and Haley Jane Lee of Eaton Rapids, step-sons, Dustin Abbott of Onondaga and Jacob Schafer; brothers, Austin (Sandy) Lee of Eaton Rapids, Robert (Janet) Lee of Vanderbilt; sisters, Dixie Wright of Charlotte, Nancy Blank of Allegan, Dorothea (David) Morris of Eaton Rapids and half- brother, Curtis (Michelle) Lownsberry; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceding Don in death were his parents, Max E. Lee and Sarah J. (Butler) Lee Vermillion; brothers, William D., Dennis K., and Max E. Lee Jr.; sister, Denise K. Lee and Brothers-in-law, James C. Wright and Harl Blank. After leaving the family farm Don worked as a subcontractor for a number of cable installation companies, installing underground and ariel cable throughtout the Midwest. He suffered a debilitation neck/back injury while doing the work he loved; climbing poles, lashing wire and being outside. After reconstructive neck surgeries, he suffered years of chronic pain as a result of his injuries, but usually met you with a smile. Don was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend and will be thought of fondly and missed by many. Funeral services will be Monday, August 15th at 1:00 PM from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with the Rev. Stephen Klink, officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 14th between the hours of 2-4 and 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, family suggest monetary donations to be made out to the Skinner Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses, envelopes available at funeral home
