Garda Houston Obituary (1920 - 2008)

Garda Houston Age 87, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Spring Arbor Manor. Born October 30, 1920 in Albion, the daughter of Leslie and Cecil (Scott) Schultz. Mrs. Houston was formerly employed and was the first female mail carrier for Eaton Rapids.Preceding her in death were her husband James Houston; 2 sisters, Auldra Zeitz and Emma Brandt. Surviving are 5 children, Sam (Sally) Houston of Blanchard, MI., Glenna Houston of Eaton Rapids, Dana Houston of Calvary, Alberta, Canada, John (Lona) Houston of Souix City, Iowa and Dean (Bereada) Houston of Eaton Rapids; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 8th at 11:00 A.M. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with grandson, Rev. Jason Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
