Inez Ruby Brunton Obituary (1907 - 2005)

Age 98, of Eaton Rapids, died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the Fairview Adult Foster Care Home in Grand Ledge. Born March 28, 1907 in Eaton Rapids the daughter of Frank and Maude (Farmer) Mapes. Mrs. Brunton was raised on a farm and for most of her life lived the life of a farmers wife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eaton Rapids and had been very active at the Eaton Rapids Senior Center and the Mad Hatters Band. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Clare Higdon, Vern Halifax and Claire Brunton. Surviving are 3 children, Robert (Peggy) Higdon of Lansing, Lois (Don) Van Sluyters of DeWitt and Ronald Higdon of Charlotte; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, July 18th at 3:00 pm from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids, Burial will follow at the Munger Cemetery in Eaton Rapids Township, next to her husband Vern Halifax. Family will receive friends at the funeral home sunday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. For those memorial contributions may be made to either the Heartland Hospice, Fairview Adult Foster Care Home or the First Baptist Church in Eaton Rapids, envelopes available at the funeral home.
