Janice Louise Oberlin Obituary (1935 - 2016)

Janice Louise Oberlin Haslett Passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at age 80. Born December 16, 1935 to Robert and Grace (Aikey) Downing in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Janice worked for Melling Drop Forge in Lansing where she retired. She enjoyed doing puzzles especially crossword puzzles, playing cards and crocheting. She crocheted several beautiful afghans that many of her children and grandchildren have to cherish. Janice loved cooking, going out to eat and to the movies. Most of all she loved family gatherings and attending family BBQ's. Janice was very proud of her past family heritage and enjoyed talking about her uncle Aikey who has a barracks named after him at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. Preceding her in death were her son, Robert Oberlin; sister, Connie Sweet and her parents. Surviving are her sons, Phillip (Kelli) Oberlin, Richard Oberlin, Ron (Jennifer) Oberlin; daughter, Lisa Clore; grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Martin, Shane Oberlin, Brienna Oberlin, Sarah Oberlin, Amanda (Bobby) Decker, Cameron Oberlin, Morgan Oberlin, Brandon Ray, Nichole Oberlin, Jamie Oberlin, Christin (Travis) Sones, Justin Clore, Stephanie (Michael) Jones; great grandchildren, Cohen, Carlee, Ava, Brantley, Brynndal, Gabriel, Joey and Abby; brother, Robert Downing as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
