Leola R. Eastman Obituary (1922 - 2012)

Passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at age 89. Born August 7, 1922 in Dafter Township, MI to William and Catherine Hayes. Formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, Leola enjoyed watching the boats go by from her house on the river and fried ice cream from Studebakers Restaurant. She also enjoyed window shopping with her family. Leola would crochet hats, scarf's and blankets for Christmas presents for family. Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry Eastman; daughter, Roberta J. Bartlett; 11 siblings and her cat, Dusty. Surviving are her daughter, Cecelia Epps; son, William (Mary) Eastman; sister, Jean Captain; 13 grandchildren as well as several great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Chapel in the Pines Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie at a later date.
