Paul F. "Red" Laningham Obituary (1927 - 2014)

Paul F. "Red" Laningham Lansing Passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at age 87. Born July 9, 1927 to Jesse and Nellie (Miller) Laningham in Lansing, Michigan. Paul was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School class of '47. He went on to work for General Motors where he would later retire. While working at GM and following his retirement, Paul also worked for Archie Tarpoff's Catering in Lansing. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Faith Wesleyan Church. Paul was a member of the Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lansing. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling every Wednesday. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and going to the casino. Preceding him in death were his wife, Beverly Laningham; grandson, Jacob Smith; special friend, Jean Lambertson; 6 siblings and his parents. Surviving are his daughters, Paulette "Taffy" (Steve) Smith, Matilda (Don) Swanson, Tina (Mike) Smith; son, Steven Laningham; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; special friend, Josie McKenzie as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
