Age 85, passed away Friday May 22, 2015. Phyllis was born in Lansing on February 15, 1930 to the late Everett and Bernice (Burris) French. She married Jack Martin on October 21, 1950.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; in laws Thomas (Jesse Aird) Martin: brother Ron (Betty) French, sister Janet (Dave) Gamble, sister in law Gerrie (Al) French. Surviving is her loving husband of 64 years; sons Terry (Gail), Dirk (Jill), Jon (Judy), Todd, and daughter Amanda; sister Betty Lou (Jim) Cook, brother, Al French; brother in law Jerry (Ruth) Martin; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mom cherished family gatherings, loved to travel, including many winters in Myrtle Beach, and had a passion for cross stitch. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and retired from Sears.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday, May 27, 11:00 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church, 162 Bridge St. Dimondale, with Pastor Scott Crane officiating. The service will be followed by a luncheon at the church and burial at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Okemos The family will receive friends Tuesday May 26, 2015 from 5-8 PM, at the Skinner Funeral Home, 101 W Jolly Rd, in Lansing.
