Shirley Smedley Obituary (1935 - 2023)

Shirley Ann Smedley Haslett, MI Passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the age of 88. Born February 2, 1935 to Paul and Elsie Sandra (Gupton) Troy in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Shirley worked for Ingham County Friend of the Court where she retired in 1997. She was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Haslett for many years. Shirley enjoyed doing puzzles and making her famous peanut butter pie. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all who remember her. Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Smedley; daughter, Sandra Bratschi; sisters, Barbara (Chuck) Steele as well as her parents. Surviving is her children, Patti Cuellar, Jerry (Penny) Moore, Jodi (Ron) Arnett; grandchildren, Amanda (Sean) Landeros, Nicole (DeLynn) Berry, Matthew (Shanda) Moore, Alan (Janet) Bratschi, Angela (Jeff) Straus, Billy (Rachel) Fifield; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Donald Troy; sister, Linda (Lynn) Mahlow as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Skinner Funeral Home Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service.
