Bruce Arthur U'Ren Sr. Obituary (1940 - 2015)

Bruce A. U'Ren Sr. Eaton Rapids Passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the age of 74. Born July 7, 1940 to William and Alice (Heinig) U'Ren in Eaton Rapids. Bruce honorably served his country in the United States National Guard. He went on to work for and later retire from General Motors where he held such positions as union rep, supervisor, and education training safety coordinator. He served on the Eaton Rapids City Council for two terms. Bruce was instrumental in starting the Eaton Rapids Youth Flag Football League. He coached his sons youth football team and his daughter's softball team. Bruce enjoyed drag racing, watching the Detroit Lions, going on vacation and spending his winters in Arizona. Most of all Bruce was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his sister, Joyce Hull-Davis and his parents. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Shirley U'Ren; daughters, Sheila (Brian) Camp, Yvonne (Jim) Cataline Jr.; son, Bruce (Carol) U'Ren Jr.; grandchildren, Shelly (Isaiah) Clise, Jenny (Jimmy) Lawson, Ben (Stacey) Camp, Dan (Meagan) Camp, Regan (Jordan) DeJongh, Anthony (Amy) Miller, Brooke U'Ren, Kierstyn U'Ren, Amber U'Ren, Kennedi U'Ren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Janet Monroe as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
