Don Irwin Bowyer, Jr. Obituary (1928 - 2014)

Don I. Bowyer Jr. Of Eaton Rapids, MI passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the age of 86. Born on August 19, 1928 to Don and Opal (Lauer) Bowyer in Hillsdale, MI. Don grew up in Lansing before being drafted in 1950 to serve in the US Army. He served as a Sgt. in the 143rd Tank Battalion during the Korean War. Don returned to Lansing and took a job as a supervisor for General Motors where he worked for 43 years. During that time he also worked for the Livonia Police Department Auxiliary for 33 years. Don was a member of the Shriner, Scottish Rites and Masonic Blue Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gail (Lyon) Bowyer; daughter, Sue (Craig) Arthurs of North Carolina; son, Martin (Pauline) Bowyer of Leslie, MI; and brother, Maurice (Annie) Bowyer.
