Dwayne Arthur Sortor Obituary (1968 - 2020)

Dwayne Sortor Lansing, MI Passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at the age of 51. Born September 24, 1968 to Henry and Rosalie (Osborne) Sortor in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dwayne worked in custodial services for Michigan State University as a building supervisor. He was an active member and former steward of his union, AFSME and served in multiple positions. An avid writer, he would often perform his writing pieces at various venues in Lansing and belonged to the Fiction 440 group. Dwayne also had pet cats and kept chickens. He was an artist who had a passion for history, especially the World War II era. Most of all, Dwayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather who .0 will be dearly missed by all who remember him. Surviving are his wife, Marie Peterson; children, Laura (Larry Schmunsler) Hubbell, Nathaniel (Kayla Patterson) Sortor, Roland Sortor; grandsons, Aiden Schmunsler and Leo Schmunsler.
