Ervenia "Tootie" Burleson Obituary (1937 - 2017)

Ervenia Ann "Tootie" Burleson Springport Passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the age of 80. Born April 23, 1937 to Fayette and Ruth Tate in Lansing, Michigan. Ervenia worked for many different companies including the Pickle Factory in Eaton Rapids, Dart Container in Mason, Quality Dairy in Lansing and later Speedway and Pilot gas stations in Florida. Ervenia enjoyed cooking, crafts, and country music. Most of all she loved kids, any kids, but especially her grandchildren. Ervenia loved family gatherings where she would cook and entertain for family. Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Burleson; daughter, Sherry Schaffter; brothers, Gary Tate, Robert Tate and sister, Roberta DeWitt as well as her parents. Surviving are her children, Richard Burleson, Vicki Collins, Barry (Jamie) Burleson, Cindy (Arthur) Chaney; 37 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; companion of 21 years, Ken Gouin; sister, Virginia "Ginger" Tate; brother, Irvin Tate as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel.
