Floyd Teachout Obituary (1951 - 2024)

Floyd Teachout, a man of many talents and a self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in Lansing, Michigan on May 23, 1951, to Floyd Jr. and Marian (Bates) Teachout. Floyd graduated from Holt High School class of '69 and enlisted in the US Army shortly thereafter. His love for carpentry allowed his creativity to thrive and he went to work where he started roofing homes. Floyd was a skilled carpenter, specializing in residential carpentry and custom cabinetry. He could often be found working on a new cabinet design or repairing an old one. He also found joy on the golf course as a proud member of the Viagra League in Greenville, Michigan. Floyd's adventurous spirit led him to live in Texas and Connecticut before settling in Six Lakes, Michigan. An avid fan of NASCAR, Floyd also enjoyed racing in local short track events. Floyd was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were his father, Floyd Teachout Jr. and his brother, Randy (Peggy) Teachout. Surviving is his mother, Marian Teachout; his daughter, Marissa Teachout; grandsons, Donovan and Dominic Bergey; his brothers, Ron Teachout, Bob (Janet Skole) Teachout; sister, Ronda (Tadd) LaDuke as well as many extended family and friends. A memorial service for Floyd will be held on June 1, 2024 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at Flat River Saloon in Six Lakes, MI, lunch will be provided.
