Hugh A. Oversmith Obituary (1921 - 2006)

Hugh A. Oversmith Age 84 of Eaton Rapids died Wednesday January 18, 2006 at the Eaton Community Hospice in Charlotte. Born August 24, 1921 in Nashville, Mi. the son of Glenn and Blanche(Kimbell) Oversmith.? Mr. Oversmith was a Army Veteran of World War II and had retired from General Motors in Lansing. He enjoyed his farming, tractor restorations, logging, woodworking and carpentry. Preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Joseph Zemko. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Delores; 7 children, Marilyn Oversmith of? New Port Richey, FL., Blanche (Dean) Prince of Charlotte, Mary Lou (Richard) Bassett of East Jordan, Annie Zemko of Kielo, WI., Brenda Laws of Eaton Rapids, Hubert Oversmith of Springhill, FL., and Lyle Oversmith of Lansing; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Lelah Connley, Nina Smith, Opal Smith, Katherine Bellinger and Mary Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. ??? Funeral services will be Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 P.M. from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids with burial at the Freemire Cemetery in Sunfield Township. Family will receive friends at the funeral home of Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Community Hospice at 2675 S. Cochran Rd.
