Janet May Stone (Osborne) Obituary (1936 - 2011)

"For everything there is a season. A time to be born and a time to die." Janet began her earthly life 75 years ago on July 12, 1936. On September 16th 2011, as the birds sang outside her window, our Lord took her home to begin her heavenly life. Preceding her were her loving parents, John E. and Marjorie (Kowalk) Osborne and husband Robert Stone. This is the message she has left behind: "I lived a full life filled with love, generosity, tenderness and adventures shared with family and friends. I taught third grade for 40 years and always had the smartest, best-looking girls and boys. They were mine for a year; I loved them all. They could have anything as long as it was 'on sale.' My pleasures came in many forms, such as travel, visiting friends, books, camping, playing cards, puzzles, and collecting. Dear friends Paul & Kitty Gailey opened their home to me in 2003. I received loving care and help, lots of good times - laughter prevailed. They became my family, along with cats Billy and Sissy. In September 2010, I moved to Craft Care Home in Holt MI, and received excellent care for the rest of my days on earth. Special relatives: Art & Barb Kowalk; niece Sandra (Larry Thompson) Kowalk-Thompson; nephews Rob (Julie) Kowalk and Rick (Leisha) Kowalk. A collection of dear & devoted friends includes: Marilyn Potter, Charlene Pryor, Janet Warner, Ellie Richards, Clinner & June Mitchell, Dorothy Weldon, Vickie Richardson, Suzi Schroeder, AC & Cheryl Allen, Mary Anne Wallace (a special high school and college friend), Bob Roberts (her boss for many years), Ellie Baker, Shirley Bailey, Ashley Townsend, Dennis & Molly Courter. We shared many special times together. My "special angel" was Kitty Gailey." There will be no services. Cremation will occur. Memorials can be sent to The First Baptist Church of Stockbridge, which Janet supported, or your favorite charity. Although Jan's journey here has come to an end, her spirit, lively wit and sense of humor will live on & will never be forgotten. This is not good-bye Jan, but "see you later."
