John "Frank" Squires Obituary (1926 - 2011)

Age 85 of Eaton Rapids died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the McLaren Hospice in Lansing. Born January 26, 1926 in Grand Rapids, the son of John and Clara (Taylor) Squires. Frank worked 31 years as a Material Handler for Aluminum Extrusions in Charlotte. He was an Eaton Rapids High School graduate class of 1945. Frank enjoyed working with wood and was very handy. He built his home and out buildings himself. Preceding him in death were his parents and a grandson Lukas Taylor Squires in 2003. Surviving are his wife, of 65 years, Margaret Squires; daughter, Janis (Robert) Carpenter of Grand Rapids, MI; son, Dennis (Katie) Squires of Riverview, FL; grandchildren, Zach (Addie) Squires, Chris (Panechanh) Carpenter, Stephanie (Craig) Thornton, Jon (Becky) Carpenter, Ashley Glupker; great grandchild, Alayna Squires; sister, Kay Feasel of Duck Lake, MI; brother, Albert (Lucille) Squires of Jacksonville, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Skinner Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Brown of Olivet Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow to Oakwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m.
