Kirk S Putnam Obituary (1942 - 2016)

Kirk S. Putnam Passed away on September 9, 2016 with his family at his bedside. Kirk was born on May 9, 1942 in New London, CT and graduated from Laingsburg High School class of 1960. He worked for General Motors retiring after 40 years of service from Oldsmobile. His strength and passion will live long in our hearts, always and forever. He and his wife Linda of 53 years were near inseparable traveling the roads in search of treasures for their antique shop, Rooster Hill Country Shop. Kirk had a dedication to shooting sports, volunteering for community groups and a member of the Eaton Rapids Conservation Club. He was a man with a diverse life, possessing great wit, humor, intelligence, always having a story to tell. But paramount to all was his love, pride and joy of his daughter, son, grandsons, great grandson and special granddaughter. Oh, how he will be missed! Kirk was truly a man of tremendous moral character and generous heart; loving his family and very dear friends. Surviving Kirk are his wife, Linda Putnam; daughter, Kim (Brian) Harkness; son, Kirk S. Putnam II; grandsons, Kirk Putnam III, Kraig Putnam, Konnor Putnam, Steven Harkness, Joseph (Trissa McClinchey) Harkness; great grandson, Gavin Harkness; brothers, Jimmy (Joyce) Putnam and John (Toby Powell) Putnam. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the family residence in Eaton Rapids.
