Leota Mae Strobel Obituary (1943 - 2018)

Leota Mae Strobel Age 75, of Dimondale, MI went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2018. Leota was born on January 17, 1943 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Harry and Crystal (Gaus) Skinner. She was raised in Dimondale attending grades K-6 in the one room Skinner School. Graduated class of 1961 from Eaton Rapids High School. Leota was a devoted member of Grovenburg United Methodist Church where she was a youth group leader, sunday school teacher, choir and U.M.W. member. She was active in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts serving as a Den Mother and Scout Leader. Leota was a talented crafter and woodcarver. She was an amateur HAM Radio operator with the call sign KD8SQD. Leota is preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Ed Smart; sisters, Vera, Ellen, Betty, Norma, Ruth, Evelyn; brother, David; brothers-in-law, Ken and Mike Strobel; parents-in-law, Earl and Margaret Strobel. Surviving Leota are her husband, Robert Strobel (of 54 years); children, Marty (Pam) Strobel, Cyndi (Chris) Montgomery; grandchildren, Grace and Leah Montgomery, Kylee Strobel; sisters, Helen (Jim) Harris, Martha Smart; brother, Bobby (Tina) Smart; sister-in-law, Nansie Strobel. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Eaton Rapids.
