Lloyd Edward Steele Jr. Obituary (1924 - 2015)

Lloyd E. Steele Jr. Eaton Rapids Passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at age 91. Born June 26, 1924 in Bloomfield, Indiana to Lloyd E. and Cecil (Miller) Steele, the oldest of three children. Lloyd lived most of his life in Indianapolis, Indiana, moving to Eaton Rapids in 1986 after retirement. After graduating from high school in 1943 he joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Belet in the Pacific for the remainder of World War II. On December 21, 1946 he married Betty I. Moon of Tipton, Indiana. Lloyd worded as an engraver in various graphic arts companies throughout his working years. Preceding him in death were his parents, two siblings and his great-great grandson, Greyson Yeager. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Betty I. Steele; daughter, Sandra Porter of Eaton Rapids; son, Dr. Greg (Kathi) Steele of Fishers, Indiana; son-in-law, Bruce Porter; 4 grandchildren, Holly Hasbrook of Eaton Rapids, Tracy (Troy) Miller of Eaton Rapids, Jimmy (Tara) Steele of Noblesville, Indiana and Jon Steele of Fishers, Indiana; 5 great grandchildren, Christopher (Telsea) Yeager, Brandon Miller, Cora Hasbrook, Carson Miller, Ali Steele; great-great grandson, Jasper Yeager and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids Chapel with visitation one hour prior.
