–

Lansing, MI

Ofeliya was born on January 19, 1940. Her parents were Micheal and Lyba. She had two older sisters, Teresa and Jasmine. Her father served in World War 2. He died during the war when she was four years old. Her mother died from cancer at the age of 36. When she was twelve years old, her sisters became her guardians. They lived poorly with not enough food for the three of them. She didn't get to finish high school because of this and had to join the work force instead. She was determined to be great and successful in life whether it was in family or work. She got married and raised three children. She became a manager of a flower store at the age of 35. She felt happiness and fulfillment in life until she lost her husband when he had a heart attack at the age of 49. She was lost without him. After this, she found companionship with a man named Robert. Robert gave her a new happiness and she had a fun carefree attitude with him. She found meaning to life with him for ten years they were together until his death separate them. After this, she found purpose in her role as a grandmother. She loved to spoil her grandchildren with fancy gifts of toys and clothes. As her grandchildren grew and her two daughters moved to the United States over the years, she decided to visit America. She came over to Michigan to live with her daughter's family. She visited her oldest daughter and family in California a couple of times and even went back to Russia several times to see her son and his newly born twins over the years. She became a citizen and adapted to life in America. She became a food lover and loved to cook a lot. She was a remarkable woman. She was unpredictable, fun, strong and a person full of life. She was looking forward to the future and even planned to live with her son-in-law's father Gregory who she became good friends with over the years and even they cooked together. She loved life and was thinking about the future to the day she passed. She was loved by many. She will be missed very much. Her strong bubbly personality will be remembered by her family, her two daughters and son and her grandchildren. We love you Ofeliya. Rest In Peace!
