Ponnie Jean Bailey Obituary (1930

Ponnie Jean Bailey Lansing Passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the age of 93. Born March 26, 1930 to Dan and Arlene (Eggleston) Graham in Charlotte, Michigan. Ponnie graduated from Dimondale High School class of 1948. She was the homemaker for her family and provided in home care to many children throughout the years. Ponnie enjoyed playing cards and board games and she liked watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was an MSU fan and especially liked football and basketball. Ponnie enjoyed taking care of her flower gardens and watching the birds at her bird feeder. Family was always most important to Ponnie. She was the matriarch of the family and loved hosting family and friends where she could cook and take care of everyone. Ponnie was the most selfless person, accepting of everyone and giving whatever was needed to those around her. Everyone loved Ponnie and she loved everyone. Ponnie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Preceding her in death were her husband, William Bailey; sons, Bruce Bailey and Douglas Bailey; brother and sister-in-law, Verlon and Kathy Graham as well as her parents. Surviving are her children, Linda (Jim) Delaney, Mark (Janene) Bailey; grandchildren, Kelley Delaney, Kara (Brandon) Bryant, Justin Bailey, Rachel Bailey; great grandchildren, Annabell Bryant, Graham Bryant; sister, Carolyn (Gary) Cheadle; special friend, Brandon Nico as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to give a special acknowledgement to the entire staff at Trinity Hospice for their care and support. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Skinner Funeral Home Lansing Chapel. Family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
