Robert J "Bob" Guthrie Obituary (1933 - 2014)

Robert J "Bob" Guthrie Lansing Passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at age 81. Born May 24, 1933 to Frank and Vivian (Nichols) Guthrie in Farmington, Michigan. Bob was a graduate of Charlotte High School. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Bob went on to work as a technician for Anderson Heating & Cooling in Lansing where he would later retire. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 333. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting. His nickname was "Tinker Bob" he could fix and build anything from cabinets and furniture to small engines. Preceding him in death were his wife, Nancy E. Guthrie; sisters, Betty Butler, Phyllis Guthrie and his parents. Surviving are his children, Vicki (John) Miller, Rhonda (Stephen) Luttrell, John (Patricia) Guthrie, Roberta (Bradley) Streeter, Renay (Charlie) Hobbs, Jimmie Roberts, Michael (Diana) Roberts as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 14th at Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heth St. Orleans, MI 48865. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852 in Bob's memory.
