Virginia May Kalchik Obituary (1932 - 2015)

Virginia M. Kalchik Bella Vista, AR Passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at age 82. Born September 21, 1932 to Albert and Myrtle Popp in Whitefish Bay, WI. Virginia was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee, WI. After graduation she married James Kalchik on May 22, 1954 and moved to Lansing, MI where she was a volunteer for March of Dimes Jean Granger Prenatal Clinic for 20 years. Virginia was a past president of Northwest Arkansas Retired Nurses, a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bella Vista, AR and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing cards. Preceding her in death were her brothers, James, Albert, and Thomas Popp and her parents. Surviving are her husband, James Kalchik of Bella Vista, AR; daughters, Sylvia (Charles) Efken of St. Louis, MO, Rita (Herb) Cradduck of Lake Leelanau, MI, Donna (Bob) Law of Laughlin, NV, Synthia (Bruce) Semon of Kingsley, MI; sons, Richard (Lynne) Kalchik of Winter Garden, FL, Ronald (Laura) Kalchik of Zanesville, OH, Daniel (Lisa) Kalchik of Lansing, MI, Donald Kalchik of North Tonawanda, NY; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Maximillian (Emma) Popp of Lake Leelanau, MI, Mark (Lois) Popp of Tucson, AZ; sisters, Monica (Richard) Houdek of West Allis, WI, Mary Jo (Lou) Gundrum of Hales Corners, WI, Alice (Frank) Formolo of Brookfield, WI, Jane (Richard) Groff of Salem, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. John Byers as Celebrant.
